For all who don't know what a Directioner is - a 'directioner' is a super fan of the British/Irish band called 'One Direction'. For all who don't know what 'One Direction' is - find a new place to live, that rock you live under is isolating you from the rest of the world.
here's few pictures from the flash mob: (I'm not in them, I was clicking the pics)

So let me start from the starting, I became a directioner when I was 15, that was the time when I got a new twitter account and trust me twitter is run by directioners. I found a world trend that said #HappyBirthdayZayn now that was the name I never heard before, so being the bored teenager I was, I immediately clicked the link and found the CUTEST BOY ON THE PLANET! oh my god. who is this boy. I googled and followed every fan account of Zayn Malik. Then later, I saw my friends getting crazy over this new song called 'What Makes You Beautiful' and well, I heard that song. Do I need to tell what happened next? Every teenage girl who heard WMYB (I repeat, everyone) googled 'one direction funny moments' immediately after the song ended for the 8763478312th time. There we go, we added a number extra to the innumerable number of teenage girls going crazy over this bunch of idiots.
The next step for any fangirl is to forget about their existence as an individual and start obsessing over people who don't know about their existence. I had just finished my 10th grade and was waiting for the result of my CET, and I had six months before I could join any institute. There we go, fangirl=(bored teenage girl)+(lots of free time)+(internet connection). Now that we satisfied all the three constraints of the equation, we get the operand called 'fangirl'. At that time I was completely capable of publishing a research document on 1D without any errors. I had already crossed 30K tweets spamming the twitter accounts of the then teenage boys of 1D, crying almost each time they did a follow spree and time zones ruined my one in a million chance of ever getting noticed.
The management of 1D 'Syco' thought of releasing a movie called 'This is us' in 3D for the unlucky (and broke) fans who cant attend their concerts. That movie also released in my hometown Hyderabad bringing me closer to other crazy girls like me. And trust me, that period was the best period of my life. I was an introvert and for an introvert finding like minded people is the best thing that can happen. I cried when I watched that movie, it was real in my brain. I was in the concert hall and roaming the world with 1D. Singing with the boys, cheering, screaming when Zayn pulled Harry's pants or when Louis slapped Niall or when Liam did that head swirl, the best part was during the song 'Teenage Dirtbag' where the boys are shown in superhero dresses.
Yes, they were superheroes for me. They made me happy, so happy. This movie was the only time of my life when I cried because I was so happy and excited. I never felt so high. I never even spoke a lot, but during that phase I used to sing, yell, and even dance to their songs. Man, these bunch of strangers changed me as a person, and that's why I can never stop loving them. I made new friends and took so many pictures that my phone memory was full, I never liked myself in the camera but this time I didn't care, I was so happy.
Then the second movie released 'Where We Are Tour'. This was equally crazy. Let me re-quote my then Facebook status here "OMG DONT EVEN ASK ASDFGHJKL #WWAMOVIE Better than perfect!!!! THAT STANDING OVATION FOR BEST SONG EVER. ZAYN'S HIGH NOTE GAAHH. THE CROWD WAS AWESOME. I need an ENT specialist right now..my ears and throat hurt! IT WAS A CONCERT IN DISGUISE, YES. and yah little things wala part :').. everyone with flashes on!.. FREAKING AWESOME.And that Life size poster freaked me out and those hugs in the end! I'm crying. Post movie depression.. help me." (umm........I'm sorry for yelling in your ear). This is when I thought of making a page called 'One Direction Hyderabad' on Facebook. And oh dear god, one of the best decisions of my life, this page gained so much of popularity that I thought of a crazy idea.
That idea was to organize a flash mob (impromptu dance) in the city in one of the famous malls - the City Center mall. I simply decided a date and created an event on Facebook. This was another time when the Hyderabad Directioners surprised me in huge numbers. The response was HUGE. Few members decided to do a pre-meeting before the actual date to practice on the dance routine a bit. I felt like a celebrity, everyone knew me. Man, I really can't thank One Direction enough. It was CRAZYYYYY. I used to update the page daily with videos of the dance steps, with updates on dress codes, colour coordination and organization of the DJ and stuff like that. Then the day came.
I woke up early that day, spoke the other co organizers of the event and wore a red coloured hoodie and white pants, and headed to the mall. The mall was so crowded that we couldn't find a parking spot! All the girls wearing red, most of them flaunting the 1D merchandise and 1D printed T-shirts! Then the DJ started. dude, this was completely insane. People were going crazy, it was amazing,We played so many songs, danced and yelled 'One Direction come to Hyderabad' in the mic. I cannot ever forget that day. We spammed One Direction's twitter each and every day. But sadly, no one ever responded. And Zayn left the band, and they went on a hiatus, and Niall released solos and Harry started acting. Well, all's messed up. But anyway, that's how fast the night changes. (*wink*wink*)
Whatever, we are all grown ups now. I'm 20 and a little mature (I think?), but I will forever cherish these moments of my life experienced because of 1D. This phase kind of contributed into making me the person I am today, better than yesterday, more confident and self lover. I still really wish to attend a One Direction concert, if not one.. five, for five different boys. I know, people get judgmental when its about fangirling, they quickly hate on One Direction, saying there are better things on the planet. But do you ever try to understand us? This obsession helped me so much, gave me so many exciting experiences that no other person will understand unless lived by themselves, I am not embarrassed of my Directioner phase, in fact I'm so thankful I went on twitter that day. Thank you One Direction, for everything.
